Alcoa Names Jake Siewert Vice President, Global Communications and Public Strategy
PITTSBURGH--September 26, 2001--
Alcoa announced today that it named Jake Siewert, 37, to the new
position of vice president, Global Communications and Public Strategy.
Mr. Siewert, who will join Alcoa on October 1, will be responsible for
integrating various communication and external processes to raise
Alcoa's public profile.
Mr. Siewert has extensive experience in communications and public
affairs and served most recently as the White House press secretary from
2000-2001, where he was principal spokesperson for the Clinton
administration on foreign and domestic policy. Before that, he worked
as a special assistant to the President for Economic Affairs for the
National Economic Council at the White House. He began his work in
Washington as communications director for the Democratic Governors'
Association.
Mr. Siewert was educated at Yale College and the law school of the
University of California at Berkeley.
