Alcoa announced today that Timothy J. Leveque, 50, has been elected by
Alcoa's Board of Directors a vice president of Alcoa. Mr. Leveque is
also president - Alcoa Asia and is responsible for Alcoa's business
development and management in the Asian region as well as the company's
sales and marketing services there. He is located in Hong Kong. His most
recent position was president - Alcoa Closure Systems International, the
Alcoa business unit that produces plastic and aluminum bottle caps,
plastic bottles, and capping and other equipment and supplies for
worldwide packaging markets.
Mr. Leveque joined Alcoa in 1969 in the company's sales organization in
Los Angeles. He held several sales and corporate planning assignments
before being named production manager at Alcoa's Lancaster (Pa.) Works.
In 1985, Mr. Leveque was named general manager of metal closures and
works manager of the Richmond (Ind.) facility. He became general manager
- U.S. Operations for Closure Systems International in 1988 and
president of the unit in 1990.
Mr. Leveque received a bachelor's degree in marketing and management
from the University of Southern California in 1969 and a master's degree
in management from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981.
