L. P. (Pat) Hassey Named Alcoa Executive Vice President and Group President Alcoa Industrial Components
PITTSBURGH, Pa.--May 31, 2000--
Alcoa announced that L. P. (Pat) Hassey, 54, has been named an executive
vice president of the company and to the newly created position of Group
President Alcoa Industrial Components. This new business unit includes
three former Condant Technologies units -- Howmet, Huck Fasteners and
Thiokol Propulsion -- as well as Alcoa Automotive and Alcoa Forged
Products business units. The Industrial Components business unit will be
headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mr. Hassey's most recent position was president of Alcoa Europe, where
he was responsible for Alcoa's primary, flat-rolled products, extrusion,
end products, and Kawneer businesses in Europe.
Mr. Hassey has held numerous management and production positions during
his career with Alcoa including assignments in Tennessee; Cleveland,
Ohio; Lafayette, Indiana, and Davenport, Iowa. In 1985 he became
Davenport Works Manager and later became sales and marketing manager
Aerospace Sheet and Plate. In 1991, he was named president of Alcoa
Aerospace/Commercial Rolled Products and was elected an Alcoa vice
president. He moved to Lausanne, Switzerland in 1998 to provide
strategic and operational leadership for Alcoa Europe.
