Alcoa Chosen Again for Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2003--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) today
announced that for the third consecutive year it has been named a
component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index family based on the
company's ability to balance environmental excellence, social
responsibility and financial success.
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) are
the world's first global indexes tracking the performance of the
leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The DJSI World
family is limited to the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in the
Dow Jones Global Index in terms of economic, environmental and social
criteria.
