PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2003--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) today announced that for the third consecutive year it has been named a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index family based on the company's ability to balance environmental excellence, social responsibility and financial success.

Alcoa was first named a component of the DJSI in 2001. It joins more than 300 companies from 22 countries that lead their respective industries in sustainability.
