Alcoa Releases 2011 Sustainability Report "Sustainability is part of everything we do." Alcoa Chairman and CEO
NEW YORK--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) today published its 2011
Sustainability Report which details the company's global
environmental, social and economic performance. It is the 11th
year in a row Alcoa has produced the report.
"Sustainability is not a catalog of processes, nor merely a philosophy
at Alcoa," said Chairman and CEO Klaus Kleinfeld. "Rather, it is part of
everything we do."
Alcoa businesses use a Sustainability Scorecard to align sustainability
targets with business strategy and provide a dashboard to measure
progress against key near-term sustainability metrics. In addition, each
Alcoa business has developed a roadmap to lay out process steps,
decisions, and technical improvements needed to realize longer-term

its global freshwater-use intensity by 21 percent between 2005 and
2011, exceeding both of these 2020 targets and allowing us to bring
