Eric Beringause Named President of Alcoa Consumer Products

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2006--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Eric Beringause, 48, has joined Alcoa as President of Alcoa Consumer Products, the global consumer business within Alcoa, and the market leader in the consumer wraps and bags category. Among the well-known brands in the ACP portfolio are Reynolds Wrap(R) Aluminum Foil, Reynolds Plastics Wrap, Reynolds Cut-Rite Wax Paper and BacoFoil in the UK. Mr. Beringause most recently was senior vice president and global head of International Strategy with Novartis' Gerber Infant and Baby Products business, based in Parsippany, NJ.

Eric Beringause

Eric Beringause joined Alcoa in January 2006 as president, Alcoa Consumer Products. He has extensive marketing and business development experience with several well-known global consumer products companies. Before coming to Alcoa he worked for four years at Novartis, a world leader in pharmaceuticals and consumer health, as senior vice president, Global Head-International Strategy for Gerber Infant and Baby Products, a part of Novartis' consumer health division. In this position, he had global accountability for Gerber's Nutrition businesses operating in 93 countries. His prior experience includes serving as executive vice president for Edgewood Consulting Group, Inc., a leading consumer products consulting organization based in Morris Plains, NJ, and serving in senior executive marketing and business development positions for ConAgra Food, Inc's. Grist Mill Store Brand Division, and for the Pillsbury Company Green Giant Division. Earlier, he held product management positions for Nabisco Brands and Nestle, Inc.

Mr. Beringause graduated from Vassar College in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in anthropology and obtained an MBA degree with a focus on marketing from Cornell University in 1982.
