Alcoa Wheel Products Facility in Collingwood Receives Plant Manager's Award from Honda

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2005--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Honda of Canada Manufacturing presented the Alcoa Wheel Products plant in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada with the Plant Manager's Award for its commitment to quality and customer service during the launch of the all-new 2006 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck.

The new four-door, four-wheel-drive truck features 17-inch Alcoa cast aluminum wheels in the Ridgeline's upgraded EX-L and EX-L Navi trim packages.

"Alcoa performed beyond expectations and demonstrated considerable effort to ensure the success of Honda's business," said Gilles Madore, vice president and plant manager of Honda's Alliston, Ontario facility. "The launch of a new model takes the teamwork not only of Honda's associates but of our suppliers. Alcoa's flexibility, Alcoa's commitment to create a plan and then execute it played a large role in the successful launch of the Ridgeline."

The award was presented to Ellie Chaves, Collingwood's plant manager, in recognition of the quick turnaround by the plant's employees in producing the specialty wheels up to the customer's demanding specifications in time for the debut of the Honda pickup truck.

"This award represents Alcoa's commitment to delivering high-quality aluminum wheels that meet the safety, styling and performance standards of Honda. Without a dedicated workforce, this type of recognition would never be possible," said Kevin Kramer, president, Alcoa Wheel Products. "We are excited about contributing to this dynamic, next-generation truck, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Honda."

Alcoa Wheel Products in Collingwood supplies aluminum wheels for the Honda Ridgeline. The plant also supplies aluminum wheels for the Honda Pilot.
