Alcoa-Kofem Named Supplier of the Year By Amari Metals Ltd.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. & SZEKESFEHERVAR, Hungary--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 2004--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Amari Metals Ltd., one of Europe's leading distributors of stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and high value metals, named Alcoa-Kofem Kft. in Szekesfehervar, Hungary as its "Supplier of the Year" for the second consecutive year. Alcoa-Kofem supplied 1,132 tonnes of extrusions last year to Amari's stockholding facility, The Metal Centre in Tipton, UK. The Metal Centre has been a customer of Alcoa- Kofem since late 2001.

Alcoa-Kofem was ranked first out of 33 suppliers based on the following performance criteria: on-time delivery, material quality conformance, rejection recovery, and test certification.
