PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 2004--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Reynolds Food Packaging, an Alcoa business, will provide supplies to serve the estimated two million meals that will be made in the Olympic Village during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Reynolds Food Packaging's new Cater-Time Bowls, Lids and Utensils, Reynowave Casseroles, and Aluminum Steam Table Pans & Lids were shipped directly to Athens, Greece to a food service management firm that expects to provide meals to 16,000 athletes and team officials during the Olympic Games August 13-29 and to 6,000 athletes and team officials during the Paralympic Games September 17-28. The catering operations will also feed the athlete's families and members of the media.
"Being chosen to supply the official Olympic Village caterer with our bowls, utensils and pans demonstrates that Reynolds Food Packaging products are as strong and durable as Olympic gold," said Roy C. Dahlquist, director of International Business Development for Reynolds Food Packaging.
