L. P. (Patrick) Hassey named president, Alcoa Europe
PITTSBURGH--November 25, 1997--
Alcoa announces that L. P. (Patrick) Hassey, 51, has been named to the
newly created position of president, Alcoa Europe. He continues as a
vice president of Alcoa. In his new position, effective January 1, 1998,
Mr. Hassey will be responsible for Alcoa's primary, flat-rolled products
and extrusion businesses in Europe located in Italy, Hungary, Spain and
the Netherlands as well as the Alcoa International Service Center
located in Belgium. He will be located in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is
currently president, Aerospace/Commercial Rolled Products based in
Davenport, Iowa.
Mr. Hassey has held numerous management positions and production
positions during his 30-year career with Alcoa including assignments in
Tennessee; Cleveland, Ohio; and Lafayette, Indiana. In 1980, he became
foil mill production manager at Davenport, then production manager for
the entire plant, and in 1985 was named Davenport Works Manager. In
1990, Mr. Hassey became manager of sales and marketing, aerospace and
defense for the sheet and plate division, and in 1991 was named to his
most recent position as president, Aerospace/Commercial Rolled Products
and vice president of Alcoa.
