PITTSBURGH, Pa.--December 14, 1999--
Alcoa announced today that it has an agreement in principle with SMS
Demag to acquire the five-year-old SMS building located at 100 Sandusky
Street, across the street from the Alcoa Corporate Center on the
Northshore. Terms were not disclosed.
Alcoa plans to move the majority of its information technology and
business support service organizations currently housed in offices in
Allegheny Center to the 80,000-square-foot facility by December 2000.
Alcoa is the world's largest producer of primary aluminum, fabricated
aluminum and alumina.
