Alcoa Fujikura Acquires Noyes Fiber Systems
Brentwood, Tenn. and Belmont, N.H.--February 4, 2000--
Alcoa Fujikura Ltd., (AFL) and Noyes Fiber Systems announced today that
AFL has acquired privately held Noyes Fiber Systems, headquartered in
Belmont, New Hampshire. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AFL is the leading supplier of fusion splicers in North America and
Noyes is a leading test and measurement supplier in the fiber optics

being a complete system supplier to fiber optic users. AFL now has the
ability to provide fusion splicers and test and measurement equipment to
its customers as a single package," says Steve Althoff, general manager

John Noyes, president of Noyes Fiber Systems, says, "Noyes' test and
measurement product line complements AFL's fusion splicer product line,
and vice versa. Together, we will be able to supply our customers with a
total system solution."

meters, light sources, loss/return test sets, fiber certification kits,
mini-OTDR's, fiber inspection scopes, fiber optic talk sets, variable
optical attenuators, visible fault and fiber optic identifiers.
