Alcoa Names John M. Wilson Vice President and Deputy General Counsel
PITTSBURGH--November 15, 2000--
Alcoa announced that its Board of Directors elected John M. Wilson, 49,
a vice president of Alcoa and deputy general counsel. Mr. Wilson has
served as senior assistant general counsel since 1999. In his new
position, Mr. Wilson will have responsibility for ensuring the delivery
of legal services to the company's business units. Mr. Wilson joined
Alcoa in 1976 as an attorney, was promoted to general attorney in 1981,
and manager of corporate finance in 1986. One year later, he was named
senior general attorney and, subsequently, senior managing general
attorney and assistant general counsel. Mr. Wilson earned a bachelor's
degree from American University in Washington, D.C. in 1973 and a J.D.
degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1976.
