Alcoa Names Rudolph P. Huber Vice President and Chief Information Officer
PITTSBURGH--November 28, 2000--
Alcoa Inc. announced that Rudi P. Huber, 46, has been named vice
president and chief information officer. Mr. Huber has served as
executive director finance for Alcoa of Australia since 1997. He
replaces Christopher Lynch who joined BHP Minerals as Chief Financial
Officer in Australia. In his new position, Mr. Huber will have
responsibility for leading the strategic direction and integration of
Alcoa's global information systems.
Mr. Huber joined Alcoa in 1981 in Lausanne, Switzerland as credit
manager, Europe, progressing to treasurer, European region in 1986. In
1988 he moved to Pittsburgh where he held various positions in finance
until being named assistant treasurer in 1991. One year later, he
returned to Lausanne as director of finance and administration, Europe
and chief financial officer for Alcoa Italia. In 1997 he moved to Perth,
Western Australia to assume his most recent position.
Mr. Huber received a finance and management degree in 1975 from the
School for Commerce in Lucerne and a second degree in higher economics
in 1982 from the Institute for Management Education, Berne, Switzerland.
He was named a fellow of the U. K. Institute of Chartered Secretaries
and Administrators in 1998.
