Tony Thene was named Chief Financial Officer for Alcoa’s Engineered Products and Solutions business (EPS).  This business which has 88 locations including service centers across the world generated $4.7 billion in revenue in 2009.  EPS includes Alcoa Power and Propulsion, Alcoa Fastening Systems, Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions, Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products, Building and Construction Systems and Alcoa Oil and Gas.  Most recently, Tony was Vice President and Controller for Alcoa, responsible for the company’s worldwide accounting systems and records, corporate fiduciary financial processes and the preparation and filing of Alcoa’s financial statements and reports as well as the Global Financial Services and Information Systems areas.  Tony is a member of the Alcoa Executive Council, the senior executive team responsible for the company’s strategic direction.
 
During his career with Alcoa, Tony has served in a series of financial management positions in addition to his role as Alcoa Vice President and Controller, including Chief Financial Officer, Global Mill Products and vice president, Finance for Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals. He was instrumental in helping transform the Mill Products organization into a global entity. Earlier, Tony worked as plant controller at Alcoa’s Ft. Meade (Florida) and Bauxite, Arkansas, facilities before being named manufacturing manager for the Alumina Chemicals business in Arkansas.  In 1998, he joined the Alcoa Forgings business in Cleveland, Ohio as Division Controller.  In 2001, Tony moved to the New York Office as manager of the corporate financial analysis and planning group, a year later, he was named Vice President, Finance for Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals.  In 2004, he was named CFO Global Mill Products and two years later named Director, Investor Relations.  He assumed his most recent position in 2008.
 
Tony is a member of the Pittsburgh Mercy Health System/Mercy Life Center Corporation Board of Trustees. 
 
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana State University (1983) and received an MBA degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2001.  He is a certified public accountant.
