Paula Davis
President, Alcoa Foundation New York, New York
Paula Davis joined Alcoa in May 2010 as President of the Alcoa Foundation, one of the largest corporate foundations in the United States. In January 2012, Paula was named an Alcoa Inc. Vice President and was elected an officer of the company. Alcoa Foundation plays a significant role in strengthening sustainability in Alcoa communities worldwide, investing more than $570 million since 1952. The work of Alcoa Foundation is further enhanced by Alcoa’s thousands of employee volunteers, who in 2012 gave more than 800,000 service hours.
Paula joined Alcoa Foundation from The Pepsi Bottling Group, where her responsibilities as Vice President, Corporate Communications included overseeing the PBG Foundation as well as leading the company’s external, internal, executive and customer communications programs.
She has also held senior positions with Siemens USA where she was Executive Officer and Senior Director of Siemens’ Corporate Communications and Relationship Marketing programs. Her responsibilities included managing the company’s marketing and communications programs to build the Siemens brand and stimulate new business, including overseeing Siemens’ long-standing alliance with Disney Parks and Resorts. While at Siemens, she also held positions in media and public relations. Paula’s earlier experience includes strategic internal and media relations for MVP.com, an online sports e-tailer, Arthur Andersen, Sears, Roebuck and Company, and Sara Lee Corporation.
Paula is committed to community service. She’s an active volunteer with DOROT, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing multiple generations to improve the lives and health of the elderly. In addition, Paula serves as a mentor for the American Corporate Partners mentorship program that helps recently returned veterans transition to the civilian workforce. She also serves on the Alcoa Women’s Network Steering Committee.
Paula was named a 2011-2012 David Rockefeller Fellow by the Partnership for New York City. Through the Fellowship, executives learn how New York City works from top leaders in government, labor and the private sector. Paula also has been recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as a “Woman Worth Watching in 2012.”
Paula holds an MBA in marketing and organizational behavior from the Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
