Daniel Cruise joined Alcoa in October 2009 as Vice President of Government & Public Affairs, was elected an officer of the company in February 2011, and joined the company's Executive Council, the senior leadership group that sets strategic direction for Alcoa, in October 2011.  In November 2012, he was given additional responsibility for international business development, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures.  He remains responsible for Alcoa's Government & Public Affairs practice worldwide overseeing governmental and regulatory affairs and other public matters of interest for the company. 
 
Prior to joining Alcoa, Daniel was managing director of the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global business advisory group, served in the White House as Assistant Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs and on the staff of the National Security Council.  Prior to his public service, he worked for JP Morgan & Company.
 
Daniel is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Cambridge.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Resource Institute, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Security Initiative, the Business Council for International Understanding, the National Committee for US China Relations and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.  In 2011, Daniel was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.
