Roy Harvey was named Alcoa Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety and Sustainability in June 2014.  He is also a member of the Alcoa Executive Council, the team that sets strategic direction for the company.

Roy has held a variety of operating and financial assignments during his 13 years with Alcoa.  Most recently, he was Chief Operation Officer for Alcoa's Global Primary Products (GPP) business, where he focused on the day-to-day operations of Alcoa's 21 aluminum smelters, 10 alumina refineries and 10 bauxite mines worldwide.  Prior to this role, he served as Chief Financial Officer for this business, driving financial results across the aluminum and alumina segments.  In his time in GPP, Roy gained a global perspective on Alcoa's talent and leadership performance, an asset that serves him well as he drives to recruit and retain talent in the organization.

Previously, he served as Director of Investor Relations, interfacing with securities analysts and investors globally on Alcoa’s performance and strategic direction, and earlier was Director of Corporate Treasury.

Roy joined Alcoa in 2002 as a business analyst for GPP in Knoxville, Tennessee.  While there, he worked with the global casthouse system to develop performance measurement systems and drive casthouse profitability.  In 2005, he moved to the São Luis Plant in Brazil, as Casthouse Manager in the smelter and then as Plant Controller. In 2007, he became Plant Manager for the San Ciprián, Spain, smelter and a year later named Director of Finance and Business Integration for GPP Europe.

Before coming to Alcoa, Roy was Corporate Manager of Environmental Affairs at Greenstone Resources Ltd., a gold mining company based in Central America.

Roy graduated with honors from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, simultaneously earning master’s degrees in International Business and Corporate Finance as a fellow of the Lauder Institute International MBA program, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Columbia University. In 2008, Roy was named to the prestigious Young Leaders Program of the World Economic Forum.
