Bob Wilt
President, Global Primary Products – U.S.A. Knoxville, Tennessee
Bob Wilt is President, Global Primary Products for the US Region, responsible for the more than 1 million metric tons of primary aluminum capacity at eight smelters and the alumina refinery at Point Comfort, Texas. Prior to this assignment, Bob was Vice President of Operational Excellence for US Primary where he helped deploy management systems and programs to ensure operational stability and cost reductions during the economic downturn of 2008-09. Bob also served as Vice-President, Energy Development for Global Primary Products assisting with the repowering of the US smelters. Bob has held line positions as the Works Manager at Wenatchee Works in Washington, and as Carbon Plant Manager at Tennessee Operations. Prior to joining Alcoa, Bob provided operations management consulting services to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, where his projects included ticket sales marketing, warehousing and distribution, and fund-raising for the Centennial Olympic Park. Bob attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. After receiving his commission in the U.S. Army, he served as a combat engineer officer in the 101st Airborne Division. As platoon leader during the Gulf War, Bob planned and led combat engineer missions in Iraq. He attained the rank of Captain. In addition to a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Management from West Point, Bob holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Bob and his wife, Jackie, have two daughters. His hobbies include fitness, cycling, triathlons, boating, and skiing.
