Andrey Donets

Andrey Donets became President, Global Packaging for Alcoa in September 2011.  He oversees the Company’s business serving the food and beverage can and bottle markets and draws on the capabilities of Alcoa’s rolled products plants in Australia, China, Brazil, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S.  He also manages Alcoa’s global lithographic sheet business. 
 
Most recently, Andrey was President, Alcoa Russia, supervising all aspects of Alcoa operations in Russia, including production, commercial, human resources, finance, legal, and government relations functions. Alcoa owns two of Russia’s largest fabricated aluminum facilities – Belaya Kalitva and Samara – both located about 500 miles south of Moscow.  In 2009, Andrey was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alcoa SMZ and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alcoa Metallurg Rus. 
 
Andrey has extensive experience working in the Russian metals sector.  Prior to joining Alcoa, he was General Director of Rexam Russia, the Russian arm of the leading global packaging producer.  Earlier, Andrey worked for Rostar, the Russian beverage can maker, where he started as Director of Marketing and Sales in 1998, then progressed to Commercial Director in 2000.  In 2004, he became Deputy General Director for Packaging for Rusal, the Russian aluminum group, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rusal Dmitrov, a foil facility.
 
Originally a physician by training, Andrey graduated in 1985 from the First Moscow Medical University.  In 1998, he earned an MBA degree from The Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.  He was born in Moscow in 1962.
