Székesfehérvár, Hungary 2011
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of Alcoa-Köfém Kft. in June, employees, retirees, and community members planted 70 trees along a bicycle path in a nearby housing plan to provide shade and absorb noise and dust from a nearby main road. The mayor and deputy mayor of Székesfehérvár also attended the event.
In October, the location’s employees planted an additional 125 trees to mark the 125th anniversary of the Hall–Héroult process, which is used to produce aluminum.
