Poços de Caldas, Brazil 2011

To commemorate Alcoa’s 46th anniversary of operating in Brazil, 38 current and eight former employees planted 46 native tree seedlings at the Alcoa Alumínio plant in Poços de Caldas in May. The employees represented the present and past coming together to celebrate the success of Alcoa in Brazil.

The event was part of the location’s Green Works program, which consists of environmentally focused activities. These include a vegetable garden workshop, lectures on the environment and sustainability in schools and at small businesses, campaigns for collecting aluminum cans and batteries for recycling, and visits to Alcoa’s local environmental park.
