Spartanburg, South Carolina
To commemorate the first meeting of AFL Spartanburg's community advisory board in May 2004, the location gave each of the eight board members a tree for planting in their backyards.
The board was formed to help build a closer relationship with the community and provide assistance for directing Alcoa Foundation grants and other community-based activities.
