Carson, California

During the March 2005 Ecology Day Event, 350 elementary students from neighboring schools chose a tree of their choice from five different varieties native to the region that were donated by Alcoa's Carson location. Alcoa volunteers also made a presentation about Alcoa, how the company uses natural resources to make aluminum, and the importance of recycling.

In April, the location donated 500 trees to the City of Carson for the Earth Day and Recycling Awareness Event. The trees were distributed to local residents who attended the event, and the city planted 75 of the trees in medians along main streets within the city.

In addition, Carson provided 250 trees to employees as part of its yearly Earth Day recognition.
