São Paulo, Brazil
With the theme of "Friendly Trees," Alcoa's São Paulo employees planted 400 saplings during the office's September 21, 2003 celebration of Trees Day.
The office chose to plant four tree species that are important to Alcoa's mine rehabilitation, phytoremediation, bauxite residue disposal area rehabilitation, and Juruti mining project in Brazil.
