Point Henry 2007

Point Henry employees, family members, schoolchildren, and community groups helped plant or direct seed more than 10,000 trees and shrubs at three planting sites in 2007.

The first event occurred in June, when employees planted trees in nearby Buckley Falls Park. From August through October, plantings occurred on and near the facility through a partnership with Greening Australia. Additional trees were planted at local primary schools in the latter part of the year through a partnership with the Geelong Botanic Gardens.

Because the region is in the midst of a severe drought, all of the plants were native to the area and featured drought-resistant qualities. The almost-40 species included kangaroo apple, various wattles, sticky daisy bush, river red gum, and saltbushes.
