Point Henry 2004

In support of the Ten Million Trees program, Alcoa Australia Rolled Products employees from Point Henry partner with differently-abled employees from Mollers Lane Industries who work at the location to plant trees at local schools.

One planting activity per month is organized during the cooler months of the year, and Alcoa employees who have students at that school are invited to help. Students are taught how to plant and look after the trees, and the school receives a framed certificate in recognition of its participation in the Ten Million Trees program. Students involved in the planting also receive a certificate.

In 2004, approximately 4,000 trees native to Australia were planted at schools throughout the Geelong region. Seven planting activities are scheduled for 2005.
