Climate Change in the Rainforest
Climate models predict that local temperatures in Queensland, Australia, will rise about 3.5° Celsius in the next century, resulting in a nearly 50% extinction rate among animals found only in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Richardo Montiel (Reyðarfjörður, Iceland) and César Zuleta (Székesfehérvár, Hungary) will help measure the distribution and abundance of animals in this area to assess the impact of climate change.
