Manatees in Belize
Helping marine scientists Caryn Self-Sullivan and Katherine LaCommare work on a long-term study of manatees in Belize to document their behavior, habitat requirements, and the growing impact of human activities in the coastal waters of Belize are Bruce Croissant (Greenwood, Indiana, USA) and Dany Pleau (Deschambault, Canada). Dr. Leszek Karczmarski will also be collecting data on a population of bottlenose dolphins, which share the manatees' habitat just west of the world's second-largest barrier reef. June 3-16
