Dolphins and Whales of Abaco Island
Joining marine scientists Diane Claridge and Ken Balcomb in identifying and censusing marine mammals to establish their abundance, distribution, and seasonality in this rich corner of the Bahamas are Melinda Bolt (Pinjarra, Australia) and Vance Fergason (Texarkana, Texas, USA). Population ecology experts Drs. John Durban and Kim Parsons are helping assess population, social structure, and habitat use patterns. The data gathered will contribute to the establishment of a conservation and management plan for the region. June 21-July 1
