Requesting a Non-U.S. Community-Based Grant from Alcoa Foundation

Alcoa Foundation awards grants to nongovernmental organizations in communities where Alcoa has a presence.  Local Alcoans work and live in those communities; therefore, they are well positioned to recommend grant requests to Alcoa Foundation for funding.

Non-governmental organizations located in Alcoa communities must work with the local Alcoa facility nearest to them.  Before approaching the local Alcoa facility, please review our guidelines.

It is suggested that a one-page letter describing the mission of the organization and the purpose of the request be sent to the nearest Alcoa facility.  The request must align with one of the Areas of Excellence.  If there is a match, you will be contacted by the local Alcoa facility, and you may be invited to submit a more detailed Grant Proposal.

If you are invited to submit a detailed proposal, download the Grant Proposal Template, complete all required documents (see list below) and save them for transmittal via e-mail to the local Alcoa grant contact per their instructions.

Links to the required documents are provided here as well as being embedded within the Grant Proposal Template.   Note that original, signed Affidavits must be mailed to your local Alcoa contact so they can forward them on to Alcoa Foundation.

All documents must be in English.

Payment of Approved Grants
Alcoa Foundation makes all grant payments via Electronic Funds Transfer directly into the bank account of the funded organization.  This process increases disbursement efficiency and improves security.
