The total amount of money given to non-profit organizations through the Make a Difference Challenge.


As part of Month of Service, Alcoa locations submitted proposals for how they plan to Make a Difference in their communities. Through this challenge, 15 non-profit organizations each receive a special $10,000 ACTION grant.

  • Lethridge, Alberta: Lethbridge Youth Foundation - renovating youth employment centre


  • Shanghai: Shanghai Children Health Foundation - supporting medical treatment for underprivileged children
  • Kunshan: Kunshan Charitable Foundation - brightening the lives of elderly during the Double Ninth Festival


  • Toulouse / St Cosme, France: Amicale de Voltige Aérienne - participating in Toulouse Marathon
  • Mosjøen, Norway: Termik Vefsn - relief and comfort for seriously and terminal ill, and their relatives
  • Köfem Kft., Hungary: Kozmutza Flóra Special School and College for Mentally Handicapped Children - gardening and planting trees with children
  • Redditch, UK: League of Friends - renovating garden suite at Alexander Hospital
