Girls’ Day at AFS

Alcoa Fastening Systems in Hildesheim, Germany encouraged young girls to pursue technical careers during Girls’ Day, an annual event in the country where companies open their doors to young female students so they can explore technical jobs.
At AFS Hildesheim, about 20 students – including a few boys – participated in the event. After a safety overview, the students talked to Alcoans in accounting, product management, procurement, human resources, planning, engineering and shipping, and quality assurance. Alcoan Christian Brueckner of engineering made a short presentation about computer assisted design (CAD) drawings.
