Cold Finished Properties
Alcoa CFRP provides a full line of cold finished aluminum, screw machine stock and forging stock for use in demanding applications where specific metallurgical and mechanical properties are required.
  • Forging stock is forged to near net shapes.
  • Removal of surface oxides provides for better tool wear but also provides a more anodizable surface, especially where mill surface finish is incorporated into finished component surface.
  • Physical attributes of a cold finished aluminum provide a lower “total cost” turned product.  No more “do-overs” or missed deliveries because of unacceptable color, chatter marks or out of tolerance components.
  • Cold finished aluminum provides uniformity of microstructural grain size to minimize part-to-part variability of the inherent surface oxides and grain structure to promote a more consistent anodizing response.
  • Tight tolerances - reduce processing steps by indexing right off the surface of cold finished aluminum
  • Small screw machine stock with no oxide roll coat and no slivers
