100K Cans of Water Helps Flint
o aid with the recent water crisis in Flint, Michigan, Alcoa Foundation partnered with Canned Water 4 Kids to help send two truckloads carrying more than 100,000 cans of water to Flint residents. Flint, a city of about 100,000 people in eastern Michigan, has made national headlines in recent months for its lead-contaminated water, which has caused a public health crisis for residents.
“We appreciate Alcoa Foundation partnering with us to deliver clean water to Flint,” said Greg Stromberg, founder of Canned Water 4 Kids. “We thank Alcoa for stepping up and helping.”
Canned Water 4 Kids’ mission is to ensure all children in the world have access to clean safe healthy drinking water. The nonprofit organization sells spring water in aluminum bottles and cans, with the proceeds used to fund clean drinking water projects in developing nations.
