NASA Astronaut Visits Alcoa Fastening Systems Fullerton Aerospace Operations

Fullerton, CA… Alcoa Fastening Systems Fullerton Aerospace Operations received NASA Astronaut Tracy Caldwell’s visit as part of NASA’s Space Flight Awareness Program.

Caldwell toured the 205,000 square foot main facility that manufactures aerospace nuts and fluid fittings, as well as the 64,000 square foot plant that manufactures production tooling, installation systems and aerospace bolts. She delivered a presentation about human space flight to a large number of employees. She also shared a holiday luncheon with the employees, and held a photo autograph session.
Space Flight Awareness visits bring astronauts to NASA contractor sites to meet employees and to thank them for their work on behalf of all astronauts who rely on their products. Alcoa Fastening Systems’ products are used extensively on the Space Shuttle, Space Shuttle External Tank, Space Shuttle Main Engine, and the Space Station.
