The Series 3000 panel fastener is designed primarliy for use on structural doors and panels, especially those that are removed and replaced frequently. To meet this requirement, a locking device that will remain usable for 500 reuse cycles was developed. Another feature unique to this system is the grommet assembly that traps the retaining ring. This entrapment enhances the ring's ability to retain the sleevebolt. Once installed, the sleevebolt must be destroyed to be removed. This ensures there will be no loose sleevebolts to become lost or replaced in an improper location.
