Alcoa Fastening Systems Introduces Quick Change Socket System for Portable Fastening Tooling Systems

Torrance, California…. Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) announces that its Assembly Tool Systems Division, located in Fullerton, CA, has developed a flexible quick change socket system that can be used with pneumatic and battery powered tool platforms configured to install a large variety of break-off collars. The system provides instant socket change without the need for wrenches or disassembly of any kind. Combined with proper manufacturing techniques, this system can provide a lower cost tooling solution, improved productivity, and ergonomic benefits.

Torrance, CA… Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) announces the promotion of Craig Brown to the position of Vice President, Global Aerospace Customers and Marketing.  Mr. Brown has been with the company in various roles of increasing responsibility since 1983, and in his new role is responsible for worldwide customer relationships, sales and marketing, customer service, and technical support for the aerospace fastening systems business.

Alcoa Fastening Systems and Makita Develop Cordless Torque Controlled and Frangible Collar Tools
Fullerton, California…  Alcoa Fastening Systems’ (AFS) Assembly Tool Systems division is expanding their product line to include Makita cordless power tools with K-Fast® gear head attachments for both torque controlled and non-torque controlled tools for nuts and frangible collar applications. The K-Fast® gear head attachments have long been an industry standard and recently won approval from Boeing using the Makita cordless platform for torque controlled applications.
