Alcoa CSI Egypt Opens for Business

"I am very pleased to announce that Alcoa CSI's Egyptian operation was formally opened today. The event was attended by customers, state officials, suppliers and some of the many contributors to the project from within and outside Alcoa CSI. The new plant is a very important development for Alcoa CSI and supports the Company's aim of meeting our customers need for prompt, competitive closure supply. The facility also provides a solid base to support the Company's future growth and development in Africa.
The formal opening ceremony marks the end of the initial phase of a major project which involved a great deal of planning, preparation and considerable effort by many Alcoa personnel in and from different parts of the world. Many partner organisations also played an important role in preparing the plant for operations. Sincere thanks are due to them and to all Alcoa personnel who were part of this project.
Alcoa CSI Egypt will provide local supply for our customers in North Africa. The facility, which is located in 6th October City, an industrial area outside Cairo, has now commenced manufacturing operations. In the coming months, it will continue to ramp up its output and stabilise its operations with a view to preparing itself for the challenges that lie ahead."
