Alcoa Closures at World Cup
July 24, 2006 Alcoa CSI Egypt participated in the 2006 World Cup Soccer championship by providing its 28 mm Eurolok and M3 plastic closures to Pepsi and Coca-Cola for their under-the-cap promotions. CSI Egypt sold 63 million of its closures to the major beverage makers. Coke launched its promotion to coincide with the World Cup opening on June 9. Pepsi’s promotion, which began running a week before the games began, involves sending a peelable liner to enter a drawing to win an official World Cup soccer ball.
