Alcoa Defense Expands Organization:
Col. Andy Mills and Cmdr. Fred Latrash Join as Development VPs

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 19, 2007 - Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Col. Andy Mills, 49, and Cmdr. Fred Latrash, 41, will join Alcoa Defense in Washington, D.C. Mills will serve as vice president of business development for the Army and Latrash will serve as vice president of business development for the Navy. Both will work with Pentagon-based personnel to demonstrate Alcoa's ability to deliver defense-related materials and structural solutions.

"Andy and Fred bring a wealth of hands-on experience to their new roles at Alcoa Defense," said David Dobson, president, Alcoa Defense. "Their credibility and the relationships they have established within the armed forces will help us educate the industry about Alcoa's innovative structural solutions that make products lighter, faster and stronger."

Mills spent nearly 30 years in the U.S. Army, focusing his career on procurement and acquisition policy, international contracting, logistics planning and change management. His most recent assignment was with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army. Mills holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and an Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. He also is a graduate of various military programs.

Prior to joining Alcoa, Latrash concluded his 20-year career with the U.S. Navy as a congressional liaison officer for Navy appropriations matters. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, a master's degree in strategic planning from the Naval War College and a Master of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology.
