NEW YORK - OCTOBER 9, 2006 - Alcoa Defense announced today that it is meeting the critical needs of the U.S. Army by supplying high performance, lightweight aluminum armor alloys to retrofit 24,000 doors on High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) for deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.
