15,000 Red Miles Across China

In 2005, Ferrari drove the 612 Scaglietti for 62 days across China. Starting in Beijing and making its way through the many diverse landscapes of China (including the plateau of Tibet and the tropics of Chongching), Ferrari proved that its Scaglietti could thrive in any environment.

The Scaglietti boasts an Alcoa-made aluminum spaceframe. With Alcoa’s state-of-the-art designs and advanced joining techniques, the Scaglietti shows true excellence in sportiness and quality.

The tour of China was a great opportunity to showcase the benefits of Alcoa aluminum use in a sports car. As a light metal, aluminum use allows for increased acceleration, easier handling and better braking performance. All of Ferrari's current cars have an aluminum spaceframe.
