The use of aluminum is a source of many environmental and economic benefits. For instance, aluminum reduces the weight of vehicles, thereby decreasing their environmental impact. It can be almost infinitely recycled, using a small fraction of the energy required for its initial production. And, research efforts continue to find new applications for aluminum that are environment friendly and foster social and economic development.
