Result of our 2007 Goals — Community

Objective: Achievement of 15 group volunteer community involvement projects.
Result:
  • Reached. Accomplishment of 20 ACTION programs in the communities of Baie-Comeau, Bécancour, Deschambault-Grondines, and Montréal.
 
Objective: 10% increase in the number of employees doing volunteer work in 2007.
Result:
  • Achieved. During the past year, participation in the Bravo! program, which fosters individual volunteering, went from 316 to 428 employees at Alcoa Canada Primary Metals, an increase of 35%.
 
Objective: Financial support to regional community actions linked to the sectors of excellence supported by the Alcoa Foundation.
Result:
  • Reached. A total of $859,300 was awarded to 22 non-profit organizations for carrying out projects meeting needs in the regions where Alcoa Canada Primary Metals has facilities.
 
Objective: Development of a community support policy.
Result:
  • Achieved together with the Community Advisory Committees. The objectives needed to guide application of this policy are currently being developed.
