Corporate Governance at Alcoa

Alcoa’s corporate governance system rests on values that are shared throughout the organization. The implementation of these values is clearly defined and structured by a strategic vision and a set of policies, principles, frameworks, programs and protocols.

Integrity in business constitutes an example of these values. Alcoa has established an Ethics and Compliance Program that includes mandatory training sessions to ensure that employees understand and comply with its policies and principles.

Sustainable development is the foundation of Alcoa’s vision for the years to come. The achievement of this sustainable future rests on a strategic framework supported by clear targets that enable us to measure the progress made in realizing this vision.

The rules of governance and their structure are determined at the highest levels of the organization, which has adopted an efficient framework to monitor compliance. If you would like to know more about Alcoa’s governance by-laws and guidelines, as well as its compliance monitoring committees, their functions and members, we invite you to consult the Governance section of the company’s global website. go

Community and Human Rights
Moreover, a framework has been developed to further Alcoa’s integration into the community. Alcoa Canada Primary Metals has also established a Community Support Policy .

Our Human Rights Policy provides us with a common framework, despite the great cultural diversity we encounter through our presence in numerous countries and growing participation in new economies. View this policy

Manufacturing
Our manufacturing activities are guided by the Alcoa Business System (ABS) production system, which aims to ensure customer satisfaction through defect-free products manufactured on demand at the lowest possible cost, while eliminating waste and protecting people and the environment.

Throughout our facilities, the compliance of management systems with international standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 helps better structure activities and advance the achievement of continuous improvement objectives.

Audits
An auditing process is the last step in ensuring that our work methods comply with policies and requirements. The aim is to heighten the accountability of facility managers, while encouraging the ongoing assessment of compliance and the development of action plans, as needed.
