Projects to reduce ergonomic risks - Bécancour Smelter
Since technicians in the central workshop often have to work with parts that are awkward to access, we have provided them with height adjustable tables.
A cleaning platform adapted to mobile equipment was installed as part of the Equipment Care Initiative. This staging area will help avoid both ergonomic problems as well as risks of falls.
A chain has been added to the lever on the dumpster located at the Carbon sector treatment bath to prevent back injuries to operators, who previously had to bend down to empty the container. This modification was made following such an incident.
To avoid back problems, the seats on the mechanical street-sweepers were changed to air seats, which greatly improve comfort and driving posture.
