Succession planning is a critical issue as a result of the demographic curve and the high number of retirements expected in the next few years. We are preparing a succession plan by assessing all key positions. This process is helping us to identify successor candidates for core management positions.
The issue of succession has been discussed in-depth with our Sustainability Advisory Committee, whose suggestions have been very helpful in developing our succession management strategy. In recent years, we have taken actions to attract candidates to join Alcoa’s ranks and to build Alcoa’s profile as an employer of choice in teaching institutions.
