Compensation

Alcoa Canada Global Primary Products offers its employees highly competitive compensation and benefit programs that reflect its values and support its employee recruitment, retention and motivation strategy.

Our permanent employees benefit from a complete—and competitive—range of benefits to help them meet their needs and those of their families. These benefits include complementary health plans, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, travel assistance and an employee assistance program to help people during difficult times.

Salaries and working conditions reflect the financial and operating metrics of the company, and benchmarking is conducted on a regular basis to ensure that they remain comparable with our reference market. In addition, programs have been implemented to recognize plant performance, based on criteria that require the participation of all employees. Alcoa has completed all salary equity studies required under Québec law and is in full compliance.

Approximately 80% of unionized jobs are covered by one of six distinct collective agreements, which have been negotiated with the Confédération des syndicats nationaux and United Steel Workers Canada.

The vast majority of jobs at Alcoa Canada Global Primary Products are offered in outlying regions. These quality jobs represent a major local economic driver.
