Alcoa inaugurates “Le Pont du Moulin” in Deschambault

On behalf of Alcoa and Alcoa Foundation, Mr. Gaston Arcand, Mayor of Deschambault-Grondines, and Mr. Pierre Lapointe, V.-P. and General Manager of the Deschambault smelter, proceeded today with the official inauguration of “Le Pont du Moulin”, a work of art by artist Florent Cousineau, integrated into the bridge located on Chavigny Street in Deschambault.

In addition to the production of primary aluminum, Alcoa Canada operates processing plants serving the aerospace and construction industries. Its facilities and plants are mainly located in Québec and Ontario.
Alcoa Canada Primary Metals (ACPM) is made up of the Baie-Comeau, Bécancour and Deschambault smelters, as well as the Bécancour Rod Plant. These four plants, all of which are ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certified, have an annual production capacity of over one million metric tons of ingots, castings, billets and aluminum rods. ACPM employs close to 3,200 people and its activities generate over $1.6 billion in economic spin-offs annually in Québec.
